Mid Summer Madness 9!
On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of September 2015, Birmingham Airport (EGBB) will host its 9th annual Mid Summer Madness Event. Birmingham Airport will be fully staffed from 1000-1900Z (1100-2000 BST) on both days; from Birmingham Ground, right up to London Control.
Saturday 5th September will see EGBB host a Real-Ops event. All real-world flights departing from and arriving at EGBB between 1000-1900z during a recent Saturday are featured. There's a diverse range of short and medium haul flights all available to book via the links below.
The next day, Sunday 6th September, EGBB will host an Overload Event. Every flight that departed from or arrived at EGBB on a recent Sunday is available to book - even the flights that occurred outside the confines of the event timings. Flights are bookable via the links below and pilots can fly their booked flight at a time of their choosing. As it's Overload event, there is no requirement to book any flights and you can fly to/from EGBB, to/from anywhere you like, when you like in whatever aircraft you like!
All pilots are cordially invited to take part. You'll see there's hundreds of flights to choose from. Please help us celebrate the 9th anniversary of this fantastic event by flying in and out of Birmingham - the skies are guaranteed to be busy around EGBB on the 5th and 6th of September!
If you can't find a route you'd like to fly, then non-event traffic is also more than welcome on either day. Similarly, if you don't have the aircraft type for your booking, you can fly your route in any aircraft you like.

Pilot Information
The transition altitude at EGBB is 6000 feet. The initial climb on all SIDs at EGBB is 6000 feet. There will be a continuous voice and text ATIS for EGBB; please report the information you have on board upon initial contact with an EGBB controller.
EGBB Charts
Demo/Payware EGBB Scenery for FSX and FS9
Freeware EGBB Scenery for FSX and FS9 is also available from flightsim.com
EGBB has recently had a runway extension so installing addon scenery is recommended. Also, EGBB has seen the introduction of some RNAV SIDs, so having a recent AIRAC cycle installed is also recommended.
Most of your controllers and a few of your fellow pilots will also be sat in the same room, and perhaps enjoying a beer or two! We really hope you can help us make this the best Mid Summer Madness event yet!
Last but certainly by no means least, this year, we've again teamed up with A2A Simulations, UK2000 Scenery, Majestic Software and Flight1 Software. Thanks to the generosity of these companies, we're able to offer the following prizes to pilots who fly in or out of Birmingham during the event weekend:
A2A Simulations - Three products from their store
UK2000 Scenery - Three downloads of Gary's range of products
Majestic Software - A Dash 8 Q400 Pilot Edition
Flight1 Software - Two download keys for their products
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one of these amazing prizes is to book a flight(s) via the links above and have "MSM9" written in your flight plan remarks. Your flight must be completed whilst connected to the VATSIM network. The more flights you book and fly, the better your chances of winning. Please make sure your email address in the VATSIM-UK Events Hub is valid, as this is the email address I or the software companies will use to contact you if you're a winner. Thanks again to our sponsors who have made this possible. Winners will be selected at random and will be contacted after the event.
We hope to see you there!
Cheers,
[Sep 5, 10z to Sep 6, 19z] EGBB Mid Summer Madness 9!
